Installation

Note: The RF Analyzer – SAMbuddy-RF – is part of the Software package “DTV Tools” for DVB.

  • The installation process requires administrative privileges.
  • After downloading start the installer on your Laptop or PC and follow the instructions of the setup dialog.

License

This software is shareware and must be licensed if being used beyond the trial period of 30 days.

Application

In following some applications and use cases are described in which SAMbuddy-RF can be used. In closer inter-action with other SW components of decontis product portfolio high-end solutions for analysis, monitoring and coverage can be established.

 

Field Monitoring of DVB-T, DVB-T2, DVB-S, DVB-S2, DVB-C broadcasts
  • SAMbuddy-RF receives the DVB broadcast via RF
  • the RF parameters are monitored continousely, 24/7 via SNMP
  • optional, i.e. additional components necessary:
    • streaming TS to SAMcorder
    • monitoring TS on all technical layers (MPEG, EPG, Subtitles …)
    • SAMcorder streams the de-multiplexed A/V content to SAMitor
    • Audio/Video content gets monitored visually and via SNMP

 

DVB-T / DVB-T2 Coverage Measurement and Drive Test
  • SAMbuddy-RF receives the DVB-T/-T2 broadcast via RF
  • the RF measurements and modulation information are sent to SAMcover
